Chatelaine is Canada's most celebrated women’s media brand, with a history of marrying smarts and style that has stretched almost 90 years.

A new editorial leadership wanted to strengthen that tradition, bringing a smart, modern and clean visual approach to powerful stories that reflect women's lives in Canada. Studio Wyse was brought on to redefine and develop the publication’s signature aesthetic. This included a completely new typographic toolkit, a revamped photographic tone, rebuilding and training the entire art department and the introduction and implementation of new storytelling formats for the editorial team.

“Vanessa's editorial instincts are impeccable. We hired her to lead our team in the development of a new visual identity, one that better reflected our changing editorial direction. We collaborated on a vision, and the look she delivered was entirely modern, clean and grown-up — yet it preserved the fun and personality at the core of the brand. Vanessa helped to boost the overall efficiency of our art team by streamlining workflows and establishing new rules and flexible, modular templates. This process laid the foundation for our team to execute more thoughtfully and cohesively across all of our platforms, with terrific results.”
